The LeMay Family

Shawn photographed this family in Phoenix Park this week. I work with Erik at RCU and was so excited to see his portraits! I hear stories about his boys all the time and they just recently got a new addition – another boy! What a cute bunch! Enjoy your sneak peek!:D

Shawn photographed the Madden family last fall and was so excited when they scheduled another session this summer! I love these photographs! The aqua tops look amazing against the green grass! What a great family!:D

Wendy + Kodie + Cole

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a teenage boy in the presence of a photographer, will be never….ever….be in the state of mind to smile.;)

As a “girl”…it never ceases to amaze me that guys have to put on such a “serious” look for pictures! At first it would stress me out…I was panicked to see how few pictures Shawn would bring back of truly happy boys…I’d lecture him, plead with him, “You HAVE to make them smile”!! I’ve come to realize it’s just boys. NOW I can even find the humor in going through the photos and sifting through all the grimacing, tight-lipped, on the verge of laughing, and sometimes downright tortured expressions that Shawn manages to capture of boys…most of which will NEVER make it on the blog.;)

Even my own son (who is the happiest, most smiley child in the world – on most days) to my chagrin, showed me his best “serious face” when I asked him how he was going to smile for his school pictures. I could only laugh…

Shawn jokes and says “smiling is a sign of weakness”…pllssstttt

This brings us to our next family! Shawn took Kodie’s senior pics earlier this summer and we were thrilled when Wendy scheduled a family session! When I loaded the pictures I had to laugh! As you can see, Cole is smiling below…but boy, did EVERYONE have to work at it!

Enjoy!:D

Kevin + Atalia

Kevin and Atalia were married on Saturday, August 1st in Eau Claire, WI. Shawn felt so bad for them – they were BOTH sick! How miserable! You’d never guess it from their pictures! I love the peacock theme! The colors are so beautiful! Atalia’s mom surprised them with a horse-drawn carriage! It fit the vintage feel of their wedding perfectly! They had cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at The State Theatre – beautiful! I was amazed at all the details they had! Congrats guys! Hope you’re feeling better;)

Bobbie Sue - This is one of my FAVORITE shoots I’ve seen of yours so far. Gorgeous, I love them all. :) July 15, 2009 – 10:23 pm

Reese – 1 Year

I can’t believe that Reese is already one! Wow! She is SOOO darn cute (and serious – I love it)!!!  I was so excited when Jenna showed me her outfit..and told me she was getting a balloon bouquet for the session. I guess it’s like the saying goes “Easy Come, Easy Go”…the balloons blew away before Shawn could snap off the first shot!!! I don’t know whether to laugh or cry – but I had to include it anyways! Enjoy:)

Bobbie Sue - They’re all really cute, but I positively love the second and last ones. Too bad about the darn balloons!!! I say re-shoot! That’s a fantastic idea and those balloons were the perfect color.July 9, 2009 – 10:28 am

Jenna Ziegler - Oh Heather and Shawn! These are just beautiful. I love how you caught Reese just being herself. They look so great! And I love the first picture how it just shows the tips of the balloons. Too funny. Thanks so much for a job well done!July 9, 2009 – 3:27 pm
