Jake is a ’10 Senior from Osseo. I love how all of our seniors have such different personalities…it makes the pictures so much more interesting! Jake wanted “edgy” pictures…and I think he got them

Jesse and Melissa were married on Saturday, August 8th in Fall Creek, WI. Melissa had an awesome dress – so gorgeous! I was so excited when I saw their portraits – Shawn got some really COOL shots! Melissa and Jesse went with a modern theme and wanted non-traditional pictures – are you kidding me! Awesome! Enjoy your sneak peek!

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a teenage boy in the presence of a photographer, will be never….ever….be in the state of mind to smile.
As a “girl”…it never ceases to amaze me that guys have to put on such a “serious” look for pictures! At first it would stress me out…I was panicked to see how few pictures Shawn would bring back of truly happy boys…I’d lecture him, plead with him, “You HAVE to make them smile”!! I’ve come to realize it’s just boys. NOW I can even find the humor in going through the photos and sifting through all the grimacing, tight-lipped, on the verge of laughing, and sometimes downright tortured expressions that Shawn manages to capture of boys…most of which will NEVER make it on the blog.
Even my own son (who is the happiest, most smiley child in the world – on most days) to my chagrin, showed me his best “serious face” when I asked him how he was going to smile for his school pictures. I could only laugh…
Shawn jokes and says “smiling is a sign of weakness”…pllssstttt
This brings us to our next family! Shawn took Kodie’s senior pics earlier this summer and we were thrilled when Wendy scheduled a family session! When I loaded the pictures I had to laugh! As you can see, Cole is smiling below…but boy, did EVERYONE have to work at it!

I’m so excited to post these! Shawn took all of these in Eleva and Strum! Hooray! I have to say, I’m impressed – it was hard to pick my favorites…I guess our own backyard is a photographer’s dream…who knew! I think the last one on the Eleva ridge is g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s! I am soooo getting our kids up there for a portrait!
Melissa is a ’10 Senior at Memorial. She’s really into Truck Pulls…wow! I think Shawn totally captured her personality! Enjoy!

Adam is a ’10 Senior from North High School. I REALLY love all his guitar pics – of course I couldn’t post ONLY guitar…but Shawn definitely got some really fantastic shots! Enjoy
